USAFA Hosts AFA’s President & CEO on Leadership Podcast
January 3, 2025
AFA President & CEO Lt. Gen. Burt Field, USAF (Ret.) appeared on a December episode of the “Long Blue Leadership” podcast, a growing series featuring distinguished graduates of the U.S. Air Force Academy. The podcast was created in 2024 by the USAFA Association of Graduates (AOG) to produce leadership- and character-development content for cadets, graduates, parents, families, and those who support the USAFA mission.
Field, who graduated from USAFA in 1979, broke down the leadership philosophies he learned and adopted throughout his 35-year career in various leadership positions across the Air Force, which he now employs daily at the Air & Space Forces Association. He shared how his five core values (integrity, fortitude, excellence, teamwork, and service) have guided him through various stages of his education and career, crises that he was responsible for responding to, and his personal life.
“It was really an honor to be on [Long Blue Leadership],” Field said. “I appreciate the opportunity to share some of the lessons that I’ve been able to learn throughout my career, and also what the Air & Space Forces Association brings to the table.”
