AFA Sijan Chapter Supports Blue Star Families

The AFA Lance P. Sijan Chapter #125 attended the ribbon-cutting and official launch reception for the Blue Star Families Chapter #15 at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. Blue Star Families, founded in 2009, empowers military families to thrive by connecting them with the civilian community—both people and organizations—to create strong networks of support.

Colorado Sen. John Hickenlooper, Rep. Jeff Crank, and Commander of United States Space Command Gen. Stephen Whiting took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Blue Star Families chapter. Representatives from numerous military service organizations and military offices across the Pikes Peak region attended the event.

The Lance P. Sijan Chapter partners with both organizations like the Blue Star Families and AFA’s own United Forces & Families program to support quality of life improvements for Airmen, Guardians, and their Families.

“Collaboration and support like this among military service organizations only strengthens the support infrastructure our Airmen and Guardian families can count on,” said Sijan Chapter President Dave Geuting.
