An Office with a Mission
Our office is located in Pentagon City, just a short walk from the Air Force Memorial (a constant reminder of our heritage) and a half-mile walk from the Pentagon, making our staff and amenities accessible to leaders within the Department of the Air Force.
Our facility features state-of-the-art video and podcast studios, cutting-edge meeting spaces and classrooms, a vast library containing the history of aerospace power, and museum-grade artifacts and artwork. AFA employees work a minimum of three days in the office, but many choose to take advantage of our amenities five days a week.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Intern will support the Sales team in executing critical operational, administrative, and client-focused tasks. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event coordination, client engagement, sales operations, and marketing support in a fast-paced environment. The intern will work closely with various team members to ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day activities and long-term objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General Administration (20%)
- Take meeting minutes during team meetings.
- Assist the events team with check-ins for the Warfighters in Action speaker series.
- Facilitate internal and external print jobs for events, media, and other needs.
- Review daily report emails and breaking news alerts to ensure ad placements are accurate and complete.
Sales Support (30%)
- Generate weekly newsletter and News Alert metrics using Pardot.
- Prepare client backgrounders using provided templates for the VP of Sales in advance of client meetings.
- Provide media screenshots for fulfillment reports to the Marketing Manager.
- Collect and format sales team receipts for AWS and ASC events to submit for expense reimbursement.
- Upload updated prospectuses onto the website during priority sponsorship sales cycles.
Marketing Support (25%)
- Conduct preliminary grammar checks for NTP marketing emails.
- Assist in creating fulfillment reports for AWS and ASC events, including:
- Organizing client-specific images and data.
- Compiling decks for each client using templates.
- Reviewing final reports for accuracy and grammar.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to update media kits with the latest statistics and data.
Operations (20%)
- Review the Sales Team Gantt Chart weekly and send task updates
- Verify sales tracker accuracy, ensuring all purchased assets have corresponding invoice numbers.
- Track sold items during priority sponsorship calls and update prospectus documents accordingly.

VP, Philanthropy will be essential in driving financial sustainability through strategic planning, relationship building, and effective execution of fundraising initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and goals. The successful candidate will create, develop, implement, and administer fundraising programs across various constituencies, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and governments. A relationship builder who is comfortable working with high-level individuals and making subsequent six and seven-figure asks.
Essential Functions:

JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Writer is responsible for generating content for Air & Space Forces Magazine, both online and in print. This writer produces 4-5 stories per week for the website/Daily Report and regular features for the print magazine. Articles focus on the activities, equipment, and strategy of the U.S. Air Force and Space Force. S/he is expected to both pitch their own story ideas and be able to execute stories as assigned. The Staff Writer may also be called on to edit content from other reporters or the News Editor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Writing & Reporting (approximately 90% of effort):
- Research and write 4-5 news articles per week, ranging from about 400 to 1,200 words for airandspaceforces.com.
- Research and write regular long-form articles for the print magazine with a broader, longer-term look at key issues facing the Air Force and Space Force.
- Conduct interviews with senior military and civilian officials, attend conferences, symposia, and other events where officials are speaking, visit the Pentagon, and travel to military installations to cover military training and activities firsthand
- Research, read, and help curate relevant content from other sources
Other Duties as Assigned (approximately 10% of effort):
- Assist other staff with editing, proofreading, and content development.
- Copy edit and/or proof-read colleagues’ content as needed.
- Conduct search engine optimization (SEO) by tagging and enhancing articles to maximize exposure before publication.
