AFA Awards Outstanding CAP AE Cadet of the Year

The AFA Education Council’s 2023 national award for the Outstanding CAP AE Cadet of the Year was presented to Cadet Major Annika Santhanam, from the CAP Northeast Region, New Jersey Wing Captain Bud Jackson Composite Squadron in Elkin, N.J.

C/Maj. Santhanam is the squadron’s Cadet Deputy Commander and has led numerous squadron AE track programs to include AFA’s StellarXplorers and CyberPatriot programs.  Additionally, her outstanding academic achievement has enabled her to lead challenging STEM programs for the NJ Wing and in schools and other organizations, as well. Read more about Cadet Santhanam.

The award was presented at the N.J. State AFA conference by Jim Simons, AFA Vice Chair of Field Operations, and Col. Joe Abegg, N.J. AFA State President and CAP N.J. Legislative Squadron Commander.
