AFA, CAP Team Up to Support Enlisted Thunderbirds

August 8, 2025

AFA’s Cheyenne Cowboy Chapter in Wyoming partnered with volunteers from the Civil Air Patrol’s Cheyenne Composite Squadron to recognize (and feed) the enlisted team members of the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, on July 25.

Supported by community partners, the Cowboy Chapter provided lunch to every enlisted member of the Thunderbirds at the 153rd Airlift Wing’s dining facility on the Wyoming Air National Guard Base, right next to the flightline where the team was preparing for the afternoon rehearsal for the following day’s show for Cheyenne Frontier Days.

“Our chapter has a long history with the Thunderbirds and supporting them in their mission is exactly in line with AFA’s mission to support our Airmen,” said Scott Fox, President of AFA’s Cowboy Chapter. “We especially love recognizing and thanking the Airmen who make their amazing aerial demonstration possible.”
