AFA Joins Hands with CAP at Two State Events

AFA partners with Civil Air Patrol (AFA) to bring STEM educational opportunities to students and excite them about futures in aviation, space and industry. Recently, South Dakota AFA and CAP members partnered at two State events to support STEM Education.

• CAP and AFA shared a booth to inform educators about the aerospace and STEM educational resources offered by CAP and the AFA in Rapid City for the Technology in Education (TIE) conference. TIE is a division of Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC).
• Members of South Dakota CAP Wing and AFA South Dakota joined hands to share educational programs with educators during the Spring Leadership Educator Conference of the South Dakota Education Association (SDEA).   

Michigan AFA President, Doug Slocum, presented the AFA award for outstanding CAP squadron cadet alongside CAP National Commander, Gen Ed Phelka, at the Ann Arbor Composite Squadron awards ceremony. Said Slocum on his Facebook post, “What a wonderful organization and amazing cadets/future leaders.”
