AFA Supports Cyber Warrior Camp in Colorado

August 25, 2025

AFA’s Mel Harmon Chapter in Pueblo, Colo., helped 14 students train to become cyber warriors during the C Cubed Cyber Training STEM Camp at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum on June 17, 2025.

The camp’s class consisted of students between 8 and 15 years old, who built and flew LEGO drones. They were assisted by six older students who had graduated from C Cubed Cyber Training, as well as AFA’s “Mel Harmon Chapter Teacher of the Year” of 2024, Jennifer Hyslop.

The students also heard from Howard “Cork” Hayden, Ph.D., retired University of Connecticut Physics professor, and Steve Janssen, the curator of the Southern Colorado Space Museum.

Mary Ann Blair, the Mel Harmon Chapter secretary, served as museum docent. She was presented a Certification of Appreciation for the Chapter’s support. Maj. John Freeburg, USA (Ret.), the founder of C Cubed, has also been the leader of many CyberPatriot teams for many years in Pueblo and Walsenburg, which the Chapter has supported.
