AFA United Forces & Family Partners with Spouse-ly to Support Military Families
April 30, 2026
The Air & Space Forces Association’s (AFA) United Forces & Family program is proud to launch a partnership with Spouse-ly—an eCommerce service featuring goods crafted exclusively by military, service members, and their families.
Every purchase made through the AFA x Spouse-ly collection helps strengthen the military community. With each item purchased from our curated collection of aviation, aerospace, and military-inspired products, 5 percent of proceeds directly support AFA’s mission to support Airmen, Guardians, and their Families.
Now through July 22, every purchase is a chance to make an impact—supporting a movement to elevate military spouse entrepreneurs and strengthen the community that supports our nation’s service members.
The Power Behind the Products
Behind every item in the AFA x Spouse-ly collection, there exists a story of service, sacrifice, and creativity.
One brand featured in the collection—Bourbon Smoke Woodworking—was founded by an Active-duty service member. For them, woodworking began as a way to decompress from the demands of service. What started as a personal outlet evolved into a craft rooted in meaning and connection.
Today, Bourbon Smoke Woodworking creates handcrafted pieces—ranging from charcuterie boards to custom-engraved pieces crafted from reclaimed hardwoods and whiskey barrels. Each piece reflects craftsmanship, but also a deep appreciation for the military community. What began as a quiet escape has become a way to give back.

For many military spouses, entrepreneurship is not just a passion but a sign of their adaptability in action.
Another brand, On the Rocks Apothecary, reflects this resilience. Founded in the Florida Keys by a Navy spouse and later grown in the Pacific Northwest after a permanent change of station, the business embodies the constant evolution of military life. Each line of small-batch candles, body care, pet products, and home essentials are inspired by the coastal living in the rugged Pacific Northwest.
The Jet Fuel Candle, a standout product from On the Rocks Apothecary, pays tribute to naval aviation and the oft-unseen sacrifices behind the mission. The scent stirs memories of long days on the flight line and the late night that follows service members home. The candle serves as a subtle tribute of the often-unseen role families play in sustaining military life.

At Heritage Engravings, founder Nicole Silverman transforms craftsmanship into connection through precision laser engraving. Each piece is designed with intention, offering a personal and lasting reminder of milestones, memories, and the people who matter most—particularly in a life defined by transition.

Charliemadison Originals, a jewelry business founded by a military spouse and now run with her daughter, is built on connections of purpose, family, and shared experiences. With three generations of military service in their family, their mission is deeply personal. Over the past decade, the duo has built a global community, donating more than $40,000 to military-affiliated nonprofits.
Each piece of their jewelry serves as a symbol of connection that endures through distance, deployment, and change.

A Movement Bigger Than a Purchase
At its core, the partnership between AFA and Spouse-ly is about people.
“Spouse-ly was founded to create a powerful way for people to shop with purpose while supporting military and first responder-owned businesses,” said Monica Fullerton, Founder of Spouse-ly. “Partnerships like this with the Air & Space Forces Association help bring more awareness to the incredible talent within our community and create opportunities for these businesses to thrive. When we come together in support, we create impact that reaches far beyond a single purchase.”
That impact is tangible. Every purchase supports not only a small business but a military family navigating the unique challenges of service life. It fuels programs that strengthen community, improve quality of life, and ensure that no family stands alone.
“AFA’s United Forces & Families program is proud to launch this partnership as a meaningful step forward in expanding our impact for military families,” said Christine Ndam, Senior Manager of Community Outreach at AFA. “By elevating military family entrepreneurs and investing in their success, we are directly strengthening family readiness—and ultimately, the force itself.” Every purchase from the AFA x Spouse-ly collection is a chance to be part of something bigger. Shop with purpose, support our heroes, and strengthen the family force.
