AFCEA Honors Jim Lauducci, a Distinguished AFA Field Leader

May 9, 2025

Col. Jim Lauducci, USAF (Ret.), former President of AFA’s D.W. Steele Chapter and Virginia State President, was awarded the 2025 Admiral Jon L. Boyes Medal for Distinguished Service to the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). The award was presented at AFCEA’s TechNet Cyber conference in Baltimore, Md., on May 5.

AFCEA is an international, member-based nonprofit that works with military, government, industry, and academia to align technology to improve U.S. defense, security, cyber, and intelligence capabilities.

Lauducci has been an active AFCEA volunteer and member for 57 years. Among his accomplishments, he launched a new chapter in Izmir, Turkey, while on Active duty, and later served as the President of the organization’s largest chapter, in northern Virginia. After retiring from the Air Force in 1988, Lauducci spent five years working at AFCEA’s headquarters as the Director of Chapter Operations and Director of the Career Planning Center. He continued serving on its Board of Directors and various committees until retiring at the end of 2024.

“This award is very special to me [because] Vice Admiral Jon was one of my heroes. He hired me onto the AFCEA staff when I retired from the Air Force,” Lauducci said in his acceptance speech.

At the Air & Space Forces Association, Lauducci has held several leadership positions, including as chapter president, state president, and vice chairman of the board supporting AFA’s Wounded Airmen & Guardians Program and its STEM education programs.

On behalf of your friends, peers, and fellow members at AFA, congratulations, Jim!
