We at the Doolittle Leadership Center believe that leaders of all ages and experience levels need an excellent leadership foundation. There’s no better time to have a robust framework to put experiences, tools, and wisdom from superiors into practical use than at the beginning of a career. That’s why we give students and cadets the same incredible leadership development opportunities, tailored to their experience level and passion, that we give in our Lead Develop Care workshops.

Actionable guidance versus lofty concepts.

Rather than focusing on character, ethics, or even leadership theory— all of which students and cadets get a healthy dose of before launching a career— the DLC focuses on equipping young leaders with what they need to succeed on day one, week one, and year one of the job. While we believe that it is vital for students and cadets to be great leaders, our training will help them do great leadership, regardless of their career choice or trajectory.

Team effectiveness without technical expertise.

Lead Develop Care provides students and cadets with the tools to lead teams with much more technical and life experience than themselves once their careers begin. Each workshop introduces key opportunities— and tensions— that they will deal with on the job, from helping brand new team members to fit in to managing dilemmas that were playing out long before they walked in the door.
