How One AFA Member Is Aiding Career Searches for Citizen Airmen in Minnesota

May 16, 2025

Stephen Kolcinski from AFA’s General E.W. Rawlings Chapter organized and delivered a pair of career-search workshops for 73 Airmen at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Air Force Reserve Base in Minnesota on May 3 and 4. Each workshop included resume reviews, interview training, and support from human resource professionals from two local businesses, Polar Semiconductor and Genz-Ryan.

On the second day of the workshops, the 934th Airlift Wing held a resource fair where Kolcinski manned an AFA booth and assisted 11 Airmen with their career search.

Kolcinski works for the State of Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and is the liaison between the Reserve components Stationed in Minnesota, the Minnesota Air and Army National Guard, and DEED. With the under-employment number for Guard and Reserve members in Minnesota around 33%, Kolcinski’s role is vital in bringing quality employment to our servicemembers and supporting the Total Force.
