Rep. Don Beyer Congratulates AFA’s Top Virginia Educator
November 19, 2025
On October 14, AFA Virginia introduced the 2025 Virginia State Teacher of the Year, Anthony Frazier, to Congressman Donald S. Beyer (D-Va.). Frazier is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant whose Aviation Technology and Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) program at the Arlington Career Center (ACC) is one of only four public high school aviation programs in Virginia. He is a constituent in the Virginia 8th Congressional District.
The meeting—which took place in Beyer’s office on Capitol Hill—was also attended by AFA Virginia State President Mike Maxwell; ACC Principal Margaret Chung; AFA D.W. Steele Chapter President DJ Padilla; and Frazier’s wife, Mady, who is also an educator in Arlington County Public Schools.
The meeting was an incredible example how AFA’s relationship with legislators and AFA’s STEM programs, like the Teacher of the Year program, can work hand in hand to advance the Association’s mission.
