Steele Chapter Highlights AFA Opportunities at Education Expo

The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) D.W. Steele Sr. Chapter participated in the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) Education Expo on August 4, helping connect Airmen, Guardians, and their Families with educational opportunities and resources that support professional development, academic achievement, and lifelong learning.
Representing the chapter were Tony Frazier, Vice President for Aerospace Education and AFA’s 2026 National Teacher of the Year runner-up, whose nationally recognized commitment to STEM and aerospace education made him a natural ambassador for AFA’s educational mission, and Bob Hill, Steele Chapter secretary.
Throughout the event, they met with Airmen, Guardians, and their Families to discuss scholarships and educational opportunities available through AFA.
They also introduced attendees to the free tutoring services available through Tutor.com and the Military OneSource program, which provides academic support for active-duty service members and their families. Tutor.com is one of the Steele Chapter’s Community Partners.
The expo also provided an opportunity to share the value of becoming a member of AFA through its Mission Member initiative. Many attendees stopped to learn more about AFA and scanned the Membership QR code to explore joining the growing community of more than 350,000 members who advocate for America’s Air Force and Space Force while supporting Airmen, Guardians, their Families, and the next generation of aerospace leaders.
“Education is one of the most powerful investments we can make in our Airmen, Guardians, and their families,” Frazier said. “Every scholarship, tutoring resource, and conversation about professional development helps strengthen our force and prepares the next generation of aerospace leaders. We want to make sure every Airman and Guardian knows these opportunities are available and can take advantage of them.”
By connecting Airmen, Guardians, and their Families with scholarships, academic resources, and AFA membership opportunities, the D.W. Steele Sr. Chapter continues advancing AFA’s mission to Educate, Advocate, and Support the Air Force and Space Force community while inspiring future generations to serve.
