AFA’s United Forces & Families Hosted DLA’s First FMWR Industry Day  

Arlington, Va— The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) was proud to host the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA) inaugural Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (FMWR) Industry Day at AFA Headquarters, made possible through a grant from AFA’s United Forces & Families initiative. 

The event brought DLA leaders and corporate partners together to explain how industry can support DLA Warfighters and their families through sponsorship, advertising and contracting opportunities. By hosting this first-of-its-kind gathering, AFA’s United Forces & Families program is helping DLA expand awareness of its programs and strengthen connections with companies interested in supporting military families. 

“We are especially grateful to the Air & Space Forces Association for hosting the inaugural DLA FMWR Industry Day,” said Michael Thompson, Chief, NAF Contracting, Defense Logistics Agency for Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation. “Effective industry partnerships are essential to delivering high-quality FMWR programs. This Industry Day helped reinforce our commitment to responsible stewardship, fair competition, and mission-focused contracting.”

The grant covered event support, including venue space, food and beverage, and an information table highlighting AFA’s commitment to empowering agencies that serve military families nationwide.
