AFA, Community Partners in Northeast Texas Raise $4,000 in Golf Tournament

June 24, 2025

More than 140 Northeast Texans competed in a fundraising golf tournament hosted by AFA’s Chapter 416 on May 30, 2025. Between sponsors, donors, and proceeds from the players, the Chapter raised more than $4,000 that will go toward recreational events at the 645th Aeronautical Engineering Support Squadron (AESS) in Greenville, Texas, and fund the Chapter’s ongoing AFA AIMS efforts with local U.S. Air Force recruiters.

“This was our second year doing the tournament to support or local military families and to inspire military service in our area,” said Master Sgt. Zach Hill, the Chapter 416 President. Hill says that this year’s tournament had twice the player turnout than the 2024 event.

Several longstanding Community Partners of AFA Chapter 416 turned out for the event as team supporters and hole sponsors. World Wide Lan Tec Inc., UHU Technologies, Rockwall Eyecare all sponsored the tournament for the second year in a row, while Chapter 416 welcomed two new local businesses—Randy Schieberl, a Keller Williams realtor in Rockwall, Texas; and Mercer Advisors—as first-time sponsors, both of whom became official Community Partners.

Overall, the tournament was a great success and valuable investment of time and funding for our military members, the local community, employees of L3Harris in Greenville, Texas
