Event Participant Release and Waiver of Liability

In consideration of my attendance at AFA’s 2025 Air, Space & Cyber Conference (the “Event”), which is hosted by one or more members (the “Member Hosts”) of Air & Space Forces Association (“AFA”), I hereby acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL

I understand and agree that alcohol may be served at the Event. I further understand and agree that any and all consumption or use of alcohol by an Event attendee is wholly the attendee’s own personal responsibility. Access to alcoholic beverages is strictly optional; no Event attendee is required or expected to consume alcohol. I understand and agree that neither AFA nor the Member Hosts will assume any responsibility whatsoever should I, or another Event attendee, choose to consume alcohol, and I understand that alcohol is a drug which can cause serious health consequences and unacceptable behavioral manifestations.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I hereby voluntarily and knowingly accept the risks, both known and unknown, foreseeable and not foreseeable, and assume all responsibility for attending and participating at the Event. By my attendance at the Event, I certify that I am aware of all risks and dangers applicable, and I hereby consent to and agree that I participate and attend the Event at my own risk and further understand that I assume all risks in connection with the same.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY & COVENENT NOT TO SUE

I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, personal representatives, administrators, and next of kin, hereby forever release, discharge, hold harmless, and covenant not to sue AFA and its officers, directors, employees, members, and agents, and the Member Hosts, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, either in law or equity, that may arise, directly or indirectly, now or in the future, by reason of any injury, disability, damage, loss, or expense whether arising from negligence or otherwise and incurred in connection with my attendance at the Event.

CONSENT TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL ATTENTION

I hereby consent to emergency medical treatment if I am injured while attending the Event and accept full responsibility for all medical expenses incurred as a result of my attendance and participation at the Event. 

INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to hold harmless, indemnify, and defend AFA, its officers, directors, employees, members, and agents, and the Member Hosts, from and against any and all liability, claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that may arise, directly or indirectly: (i) out of or in connection with the use or consumption by me of alcohol while I am a participant in the Event; (ii) out of or in connection with my use of the facilities provided by AFA and/or the Member Hosts; or (iii) in connection with my attendance at the Event.

CHOICE OF LAW

I understand and agree that the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia govern this Event Participant Release and Waiver of Liability.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THIS RELEASE AND ENTER INTO IT FREELY AND KNOWINGLY IN CONSIDERATION OF THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND THE EVENT.
